Yes, this is the first resolution of the year – to report on all the Silver Hoiday tours that we conduct for 2020!

Dates: 7-10 January 2020. Started the journey at Terminal 1, all 18 of us, flying at a good time of 1pm.

From Ipoh airport, our guide Mr Rick Li brought us to the Hakka Association Museum to view the early Ipoh days, where everyone worked hard, especially the rich Chinese businessmen. Visited the old train station, the Ipoh tree, colonial district as well as wander around the Second Concubine Street.

We also had free time to rest or explore the town.

Took a short drive to the town of Taiping and the famous Taiping Lake, the Bukit Merah Orang Utan Sanctuary and toured the town of Taiping.

Visited an old charcoal-making factory at Kuala Setepang before returning to Ipoh.

Went to a Pomelo farm, saw the fruits hanging from the trees and bought the fruits and other Pomelo products. Ipoh district was, once upon a time, the tin mining town of the world. At Kinta valley, we went to a tin dredge ship and was told how the giant machine worked and how tin was mined during those good old days.

Next shopping for local Chinese New Year goodies was a happy expereince.Of course, the famous chicken rice, bean sprouts, hor fun, Portuguese tarts and other food were tried and consumed with relish.

There was last minute shopping for everyone, until the departure for Ipoh Airport for flight to Singapore at 3 pm. Almost everyone had a good time eating, shopping and making new friends during the four short days together. Adieu, til we meet again!
