Tour Details

Day 1

To Samosir Island Enroute and  pass vast of rubber, oil palm and paddy terraces and several small towns:  Tebing Tinggi and Pematang Siantar where we enjoy a morning tea/coffee before reaching Parapat on the shore of Lake Toba for lunch.  We then board a scheduled ferry (30 mins) to Samosir Island in the middle of Lake Toba, home of the Batak culture.  Upon arrival, we check into our resort.  Enjoy the tropical pine forests, volcanic climate, and lung-cleansing fresh air atmosphere and later dinner at hotel and watching Batak cultural dance performances

Day 2

A tour of Samosir Island. First we visit Tomok Village to see the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar, then visit Ambarita Village to see the famous stone chairs and execution place of King Siallagan follows by traditional Batak Tortor dancing. 

Day 3

Take the ferry back to Parapat and board our coach to Merek, located at the north side of Lake Toba and where our next resort stay is. Enroute we stop at Simarjarunjung to enjoy ginger tea and fried bananas (own expenses) before we proceed to Taman Simalem Resort surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Upon arrival, we enjoy lunch, check into our rooms and enjoy the surrounding area at Taman Simalem Resort. This afternoon we visit the Sipiso-Piso waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Indonesia at 120m.

Day 4

If you are up for it, chase the best morning sunrise glimpse on Lake Toba from the highest point at Taman Simalem resort – One Tree Hill.  Back to hotel for breakfast. Checking out by 0900hrs, we coach to Medan with a stop at the Central Fruit Market at Berastagi (1300 msl) follows by lunch. Drop by the Lumbini Natural Park where we get to visit a gleaming golden Buddhist temple replica of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. Check into our hotel to freshen up with leisure time till transfer to Chinese dinner at local restaurant

Day 5

Breakfast at hotel before a slightly late check out for a city sightseeing of iconic landmarks such as Velangkany Church, Maimoon Palace built in 1888 and local market.  We then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then visit the Tjong A Fie mansion, a historical landmark as well as a cultural heritage building and museum that has Chinese, Malay and Art Deco influences. Finally drop by a popular shopping mall before dinner and transfer to airport for our flight back home on Singapore Airlines. Arrive home tonight.
